The Summer Reading Program is for ages 2 to high school seniors: All participants please bring your Hub Zemke Library (HZL) book returns to the Circulation Desk to verify you have read them. If readers are returning science, technology, engineering, or math books, notify the HZL staff to be entered into the STEM prize drawing (see below). Complete a book log for a chance to win a DoD MWR grand prize (see below).
Ages 2 – 9: Read 5 Hub Zemke Library books and ask for a prize. Those who cannot read yet receive credit for having HZL books read to them.
Ages 10 – High School Seniors: Read 250 pages from a Hub Zemke Library book, then ask for a prize AND enter your name for the HZL drawing held on Thursday, 14 August at 4 pm. The drawing will be for a gift certificate of $25 or $10 plus many other valuable prizes. You do not need to be present to win.
ADDITIONAL CHANCES TO WIN PRIZES:
1. All Ages: STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) drawing. For each book read in these categories, registered readers have a chance to win a science kit or a family-of-four ticket to the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center of Sacramento. This drawing will be held Thursday, 14 August at 4 pm. You do not need to be present to win.
2. All Ages: Complete a book log of HZL books read from 12 June to 12 August and submit it by 4 pm on 14 August for a chance to win prizes.

Beale Library will issue to all authorized users with proper identification upon the completion of a library card registration form. Minor children will only be issued library cards when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Authorized users include active duty military, retired military, dependents of active duty or retired military, DOD civilian employees, and contract employees with proper CAC card.
If you need to have your item(s) renewed patrons can either logon to the Online Catalog and with the information needed (User ID and PIN number) can renew item(s) before they are overdue or can call us at (530) 634-2314) and one of our clerks can do it for you. All Educational material (i.e., CLEP, DANTE) will be handled case-by-case,because of the high volume of checkouts.
Overdue material will be enforced and will be the responsibility of the borrower and sponsor to ensure all library materials are returned on time. Overdue notices are delivered by email, or postal services, depending upon the customer registration. FirstSergeants and Commanders are contacted when items are not returned after final overdue notice. Borrowing privileges are suspended until all overdue items are returned.
Lost or Damaged Item(s)
All materials checked out will be returned in the same condition and with all material intact to include cases, covers, inserts and labels. Lost or damaged materials are to be replaced by the customer with an exact copy of the item checked out.
Noise levels will be kept to a minimum for courtesy to others as we have limited space. Parents that have disruptive children are asked to remove themselves from the library or a staff member may help in finding a solution. Patrons will be asked to leave if talking on cell phones, or general loud conversation.
Food and Drink Policy
No Food or Drinks are allowed in the library; please use the lobby if needed.
Staff members will ask you to leave or throw away your items as needed.
